WATER CHALLENGES IN LUPANE

The relevant Lupane authorities tasked with providing the community with water must try to understand the importance of water to people. In the King Lobengula area, there are people who live in that area who have been travelling long distances to access the source of life, thus water from the borehole. To show that the importance of water is downgraded, only one borehole services a large population in the King Lobengula area. People have to understand that water is one of the most vital needs of people. Students have to fetch water to bathe and cook after school. I believe this is a harsh situation to put on young people so they can go to school well present. The presence of water has a great deal as it helps to stop uncontrolled fires that are used to clear land to build houses, and because of the lack of water in that area, there is a significant factor that contributes to the wild spread of fire without any means to control and stop it.

Older people and PWDs live among us in the community and have to travel long distances to acquire water. I believe this is a set of ill-treatment to these vulnerable human beings; after all, they are not offered assistance to provide or bring water to them. Honestly, there is a high chance of diseases like cholera developing because of the absence of water, people will stay on unclean premises, resort to drinking dam water and long-stored water which is unguarded, and healthy people become short of water in their bodies due to regulated use of water in different households. This shows the authorities are providing unfair deals with the community where an individual pays fully for a property that is not complete. Thus, no water  supply yet full payment is done. The individual has to travel to obtain water.
